Gods’ name is excellent, it’s above all others. God places much importance and value on His name. In Exodus 20:7 one of the commandments careful in the use of His name. Don’t take it in vain, as of no value, used loosely. His name is to be reverenced. The old Jewish scribes before writing the name of God would wash and get a new pen each time in copying the Scriptures. Sadly it is missed used by many today, and not just in cursing but used loosely “My God, O Lord, ‘ etc used in vain without worth or significance. When we look up at night and see the stars that can’t be counted, they are just the work of Gods’ fingers. Some things like the universe we just can’t comprehend. Then we see what God was willing to do at Calvary. In shedding His blood, enduring the punishment before and on the cross to set us/me free from the penalty of sin we/I deserved. We can’t comprehend His love for the unlovely like us. Then how can one dishonor His name in its’ use and in our daily walk. Let’s strive so that all we say and do brings honor to His name. Psalm 8: 1,9 “O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! Who hast set thy glory above the heavens. O LORD our LORD, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!”
That Beautiful Name

I know of a name,
A beautiful name,
That angels brought down to earth;
They whispered it low,
One night long ago,
To a maiden of lowly birth.
I know of a Name,
A beautiful Name,
That unto a Babe was given;
The stars glittered bright
Throughout that glad night,
And angels praised God in Heav’n.
The One of that Name,
My Savior became,
My Savior of Calvary.
My sins nailed Him there;
My burdens He bare.
He suffered all this for me.
I love that blest Name,
that wonderful Name,
Made higher than all in Heav’n
‘Twas whispered, I know,
In my heart long ago
To Jesus my life I’ve giv’n.
That beautiful Name,
That beautiful Name,
From sin has power to free us!
That beautiful Name,
That wonderful Name,
That matchless Name is Jesus!
