Satisfied in Life

Psalm 23 is mostly likely one of the best know passages in the Bible, Today just some thoughts as it’s read. SATISFIED; vs 1 My shepherd, there must be a time and place where He became your shepherd, when you realized your need for a Saviour and accepted Him as your only hope and full payment for sin. Be also sure our wants are in line with His wants for us at the time.  REFRESHING; vs 2 Rest in green pastures and still waters, our refreshing comes as we spent time reading, mediating on the Bible, His letters to us.  RESTORED;vs 3a  Fellowship awaits us when we fail, if we confess it to Him alone and He will forgive and restore our fellowship with Him, that’s love. GUIDANCE: vs 3b When our fellowship is right with Him He guides us down the right path the way of righteous living. COMFORT: vs 4  Christians need to fully understand that in this life we as others in the past and in many places today will go through some actural horrors in life. At these times we can find comfort in our relationship with Christ, and yes there will be hurts, heartaches and troubles in this life. He never promised smooth sailing but only a secure vessel. PROVISIONS; vs 5 He provides what we actually need at the time and what is best for us. Our attitudes and action in times of trouble may be a testimony to others that we know nothing about.  SECURITY;  vs 6a Our body guards and companions though life goodness and mercy are with us all our lives each day, they guide and protect, even when we don’t know it or understand the events. HOPE; vs 6b Our future is secure and glorious to be in the actual visible presence of the LORD Himself forever.

Psalm 23  The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest  my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
