The holidays and Christmas are coming. We see all the ads on TV for wine etc, they always increase at the Christmas season. All showing only the joy associated with wine etc. couples, friends and families in joyful social settings. (Please read to the end) But is there a deception to the ads being shown is there any possible deception in the end. Ads are an enticement to use the product being sold not always a bad thing.

Take time to consider four words from the dictionary.

  1. Entice: to attract by offering hope of reward or pleasure.
  2. Deceive: to ensnare, cheat, to take unawares by craft or trickery, mislead, to be false to betray, to cause to believe the false.
  3. Pervert: to overturn, corrupt, to cause to turn from what is considered right, natural, or true, misdirect, lead astray.
  4. Mock: to hold up to scorn, contempt ridicule, to lead on and disappoint, to defy make futile, defeat.

Consider three statements from God in His Word the Bible. Proverbs 20:1 Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.    Proverbs 31:5 Lest they drink, and forget the law and pervert the judgement of any of the afflicted.   Proverbs 23:31-32 Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright. At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder.

God has given us a clear warning on what wine is, what it does and what it causes.   It’s a mocker, it causes deception, it causes wrong judgement , it bites like a serpent. Beware Bewarned

The wrong path
Our nation was founded on Biblical principles, the founders prayed for guidance and the blessing of God in the beginning. Sadly our nation has turned away from the God who so greatly blessed this country for over 200 years. Today as a nation we accept and promote any false religions, beliefs and any life styles. Remember when we tolerate evil we then accept evil and finally we will embrace evil. In the book of Romans chapter one verses 21-32 He says “God gave them up to uncleanness….” then “God gave them up unto vile affections..” and finally “God gave them over to a reprobate mind..” . The path of rejecting God and His Word.
Romans 1:21-32 21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Psalm 50. When God speaks that’s the end of the discussion and debate. The truth has been revealed there is no other argument to be made on the subject. Today God has given us His Word in writing so there is no question on what He has said on a subject. Read all He says on a subject not just one verse by itself, but compared to others on the same subject. He speaks of calling His people into account and judgement. As Christians we will never be judged for our sin, that was done at the crucifixion of Christ on the cross. But let us remember we will at the judgement seat of Christ give account of how we lived our lives after we were saved. Some will receive rewards and many will be ashamed as we stand before the one who gave His all to pay our price for sin. Let us set our goal to live for him to please Him every day of our lives. He also gives us a great promise of comfort, call upon me in the day of trouble and I will deliver thee, and you shall glorify me. We must take a stand against sin, judgement is coming, time is short. Christ is the only way of salvation the only hope, let’s tell it to all. Romans 3:23 “ For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 10:9 & 13 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead thou shalt be saved. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Psalm 50:1 The Mighty One, God, the LORD, has spoken, And summoned the earth from the rising of the sun to its setting. 2 Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God has shone forth. 3 May our God come and not keep silence;
Fire devours before Him, And it is very tempestuous around Him.
4 He summons the heavens above, And the earth, to judge His people:
5 “Gather My godly ones to Me, Those who have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice.” 6 And the heavens declare His righteousness, For God Himself is judge. [b]Selah. 7 “Hear, O My people, and I will speak; O Israel, I will testify [c]against you; I am God, your God. 8 “I do not reprove you for your sacrifices, And your burnt offerings are continually before Me. 9 “I shall take no young bull out of your house Nor male goats out of your folds. 10 “For every beast of the forest is Mine, The cattle on a thousand hills.
11 “I know every bird of the mountains, And everything that moves in the field is [d]Mine. 12 “If I were hungry I would not tell you, For the world is Mine, and [e]all it contains. 13 “Shall I eat the flesh of [f]bulls Or drink the blood of male goats? 14 “Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving And pay your vows to the Most High; 15 Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I shall rescue you, and you will honor Me.” 16 But to the wicked God says, “What right have you to tell of My statutes And to take My covenant in your mouth? 17 “For you hate discipline, And you cast My words behind you. 18 “When you see a thief, you [g]are pleased with him, And [h]you associate with adulterers. 19 “You [i]let your mouth loose in evil And your tongue frames deceit. 20 “You sit and speak against your brother; You slander your own mother’s son. 21 “These things you have done and I kept silence; You thought that I was just like you;
I will reprove you and state the case in order before your eyes.
22 “Now consider this, you who forget God, Or I will tear you in pieces, and there will be none to deliver. 23 “He who offers a sacrifice of thanksgiving honors Me; And to him who [j]orders his way aright
I shall show the salvation of God.”
