The psalmist has three request to God in his prayer, Hear me, preserve me, hide me. Sometimes when burdens and troubles come we also pray, God please hear me. We want assurance that he will actually hear and respond to us at that time. At these times we need to remember and rely on His promises already given in the old and new testament “call unto me and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not:” Jeremiah 33:3. “And  whatsoever you shall ask in my name that will I do that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye ask anything in my name I will do it” John14:13-14. These promises come with a condition “If I regard iniquity in my heart the Lord will not hear me. Ps 66:18 The prayer always heard is the prayer for salvation and forgiveness of sin, He is ready to hear.  Preserve me the psalmist second request, in this day and time there are many opportunities for every believer to go into sin. There is easy and “secret” access to things which will destroy our testimony and fellowship with Christ. The internet has opened the free opportunity for satan to publish his devices and also for every Christian to publish what Christ has done for him and will do for all. (Every Christian has a testimony of how you came to salvation, just publish if for others to see amd maybe be helped by it). We all are subject to fail so we constantly ask God to keep us from sin daily. Hide me if the psalmist third request, Satan the wicked one seeks to devour ( 1Peter 5:8)  at times he uses the influences of his own followers, people we know at times our own thoughts, our eyes and ears anything where he can get a small opening to gain access to our lives to destroy our walk with Christ. Our prayer is for God to protect us from Satan’s attacks. Let’s beware of the little things we allow.

Please Hear
The Psalmist here in Psalm 55 is pleading for God to hear his request and cries the troubles in life are burdening him down, he cries out to God to hear and help. God has promised to hear our cries to Him (1st John 5:14). The one thing that will cause God not to hear our prayers is sin. “ If I regard iniquity in my heart the Lord will not hear me. “ Psalm 66:18. Repentance and confession of our sins to God brings forgiveness . As with the Psalmist we all at times experience heart aches and fear. Sometimes brought on by our decisions and at times by the decisions of others. There are times in our lives when we would just like to get away from the circumstances and problems facing us daily. At times the hurts etc even come from friends and even family. Remember we have a promise from God He will deliver us from or through the hurts. When we can’t see the end we must just trust in our God. We must learn to let God deal with those who hurt us in His own time. As an old preacher said “pay day someday” . Some sins are dealt with in this life others will be dealt with at the judgment . (!st Timothy 5:24) Whatever you are going through just remember, God’s character and His love. Our daily task is to let nothing come between us and our Saviour. In times of need call unto our God and Saviour Jesus Christ. Psalm 55;1 Give ear to my prayer, O God; and hide not thyself from my supplication.2 Attend unto me, and hear me: I mourn in my complaint, and make a noise; 3 Because of the voice of the enemy, because of the oppression of the wicked: for they cast iniquity upon me, and in wrath they hate me. 4 My heart is sore pained within me: and the terrors of death are fallen upon me. 5 Fearfulness and trembling are come upon me, and horror hath overwhelmed me. 6 And I said, Oh that I had wings like a dove! for then would I fly away, and be at rest. 7 Lo, then would I wander far off, and remain in the wilderness. Selah. 8 I would hasten my escape from the windy storm and tempest. 9 Destroy, O Lord, and divide their tongues: for I have seen violence and strife in the city. 10 Day and night they go about it upon the walls thereof: mischief also and sorrow are in the midst of it. 11 Wickedness is in the midst thereof: deceit and guile depart not from her streets. 12 For it was not an enemy that reproached me; then I could have borne it: neither was it he that hated me that did magnify himself against me; then I would have hid myself from him: 13 But it was thou, a man mine equal, my guide, and mine acquaintance. 14 We took sweet counsel together, and walked unto the house of God in company. 15 Let death seize upon them, and let them go down quick into hell: for wickedness is in their dwellings, and among them. 16 As for me, I will call upon God; and the LORD shall save me. 17 Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice. 18 He hath delivered my soul in peace from the battle that was against me: for there were many with me. 19 God shall hear, and afflict them, even he that abideth of old. Selah. Because they have no changes, therefore they fear not God. 20 He hath put forth his hands against such as be at peace with him: he hath broken his covenant. 21 The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart: his words were softer than oil, yet were they drawn swords. 22 Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. 23 But thou, O God, shalt bring them down into the pit of destruction: bloody and deceitful men shall not live out half their days; but I will trust in thee.

Save Judge Hear
Save me is one prayer God will always hear and answer from anyone for salvation. We can also cry to God to save us from situations, circumstances and people we find ourselves in. Sometimes we create bad situations because of wrong decisions and at times because of others decisions. In each of them we can still cry out to God to save us. Judge me, we ask God to look at me and make His judgement whether I am right or wrong. Judging is not just condemning it’s also to determine right or wrong. We have a promise that God will hear our prayers. But remember two important things; we will not always be given what we ask because God knows it’s not good for us at the time; second is if I allow sin (in Gods’ view not my opinion) He will not hear my prayer. Ps 66:18. That is anything not pleasing to God attitudes or actions. God is our helper, what a thought the awesome creator of the universe cares and will help me personally, I am important to Him. The Psalmist response should be ours also . I will freely sacrifice unto the Lord. Two words to note; freely is not required, but done willingly. Sacrifice cost you something. Then we praise Him for His goodness, kindness, love and holiness. Because He has delivered us/me from troubles and greatest of all from the penalty of sin an eternity in Hell. He suffered and died for me because of His love. The question for us is will I live my life for Him.
Psalm 54 Save me, O God, by thy name, and judge me by thy strength. 2 Hear my prayer, O God; give ear to the words of my mouth. 3 For strangers are risen up against me, and oppressors seek after my soul: they have not set God before them. Selah. 4 Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul. 5 He shall reward evil unto mine enemies: cut them off in thy truth. 6 I will freely sacrifice unto thee: I will praise thy name, O LORD; for it is good. 7 For he hath delivered me out of all trouble: and mine eye hath seen his desire upon mine enemies.
