EARLY
When we get up in the morning what do we do, some shower, get coffee, eat breakfast before starting out for the day. The Psalmist says to seek God early, that is spend some time with Him, in His Word and prayer early. Before meeting others, if only just a few minutes to get our focus right and ask guidance for the day. There are probably only a few occasions when we really couldn’t take a few minutes. The Psalmist had a thirst for God, as Christians where is our thirst for the one who suffered , bleed and died in love for us. Since we can’t meet Him physically we have the Bible His letters to us and the Holy Spirit within to teach us, give us understanding as we read and pray. To all professing Christians, just ask yourself am I really thirsty for God and His Word. Is my thirst shown by actions, life practices. Because of His love shown to us we praise and bless, glorify and exalt Him is our minds, hearts and to others. Because of all He does and has done for us we rejoice. How can e not share our love foe Him and His love to others. The Psalmist says he follows hard after God. How is our personal commitment to live for Him daily. Ones’ life is changed when we go from a head knowledge of Christ and true acceptance of Jesus Chris as Saviour. 2nd Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away: behold, all things are become new.” Psalm 63:1 O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; 2 To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary. 3 Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. 4 Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name. 5 My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips: 6 When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches. 7 Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice. 8 My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me. 9 But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth. 10 They shall fall by the sword: they shall be a portion for foxes. 11 But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by him shall glory: but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.

Four words in life
Desire, tears, why and hope are four words that are part our lives that we all experience at times. DESIRE, what is your main desire in life, remember time and actions reveal the truth so lets be honest with ourselves. Many people profess Christianity but do you have a desire, or as the psalmist says a thirst for God (Psalm 42). Two questions; do you have a desire to spent time with the Bible reading and praying personally? What priority is attendance in Church to hear the Bible taught and preached , and singing praised to God? TEARS, we all experience heartaches, disappointments, sorrow and just some hard times in this life. Some falsely teach that as Christians we will not have those times but hard times come to all one way or another, just read the examples in the Bible of men who were dedicated to God. That leads to the third word WHY the psalmist ask of himself why am I cast down set aside, without any present hope for the future. Why am I disquieted no rest for the mind, spirit ,emotions, no peace of heart just troubled in life. In all the psalmist troubles he begins to think that God has forgotten him and he is all alone. In the depths of his troubles he reminds himself as we also should to look to God. HOPE in God. As we read Gods’ Word the Bible and many times the testimonies and experiences of others our hope is renewed our spirit is lifted. The Word of God as we read it think on it and remember Gods love and care for us and His promised faithfulness our hope is restored, it may take time. But we must wait patiently on God to provide the hope encouragement and the relief it will come. Whatever the day brings remember the psalmists’ admonition hope in God. Psalm 42 As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. 2 My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God? 3 My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God? 4 When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday. 5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance. 6 O my God, my soul is cast down within me: therefore will I remember thee from the land of Jordan, and of the Hermonites, from the hill Mizar. 7 Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me. 8 Yet the LORD will command his lovingkindness in the day time, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life. 9 I will say unto God my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy? 10 As with a sword in my bones, mine enemies reproach me; while they say daily unto me, Where is thy God? 11 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.

TRUST AND WAIT
Today we see much wrong in our land, in politics , families and even in churches. The psalmist (Psalm 37) reminds us to not let the wrong doers get us down, don’t be discouraged. It seems at times thy have more success and less problems but their end is coming that’s not our desire but it is a fact with God, unless they turn to Him in repentance , as an old preacher once said “pay day someday” . We are to trust in the Lord, keep looking too and for Him. Doing good is to be our lifestyle, our daily walk delight in the Lord, that should come as we remember the price He paid for us and His watch care over us and our daily provisions, even our ability to work comes from Him. Our love and attitude toward Christ will bring out our desires so that they will be in accordance with His will. Commit our ways to Him follow His path in life will give us the right desires, then we live in His will daily. Then in verse 8 he gives us three words that are easy to tell others but in reality are at times difficult for us to follow. Rest in the Lord, because of our nature within we find that hard to do. Then wait and we don’t like to wait its difficult we want it to happen now or at least let us see the light at the end of the tunnel. Trusting the unseen and waiting in rest is extremely difficult for most of us. Joseph in the Bible was sold by family then wrongfully accused and imprisoned for years, helped others and they forgot him as he waited in prison for years before God moved him out into the light. Finally wait, trust and don’t fret while going through it. In difficult times we can only just turn to Chris and ask Him to keep us walking with Him in trust and confidence with a peaceful heart. Psalm 37:1-9 Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. 2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. 3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. 4 Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. 5 Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. 6 And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday. 7 Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. 8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil. 9 For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the earth. Be Ready, Be sure. Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. Matthew 24:44

HOPE
God is our hope, our foundation, we cry/plead to Him in our times of need. The Psalmist here ask God to let him know that He hears his cry. False religions at times just keep repeating prayers given but have no assurance that their god hears their voice. We as the Psalmist want to know personally that our cry to God is heard. We have the promises that He will hear but we want personal confirmation, its’ God let me know today that you have heard my request. Let me not be drawn away with the ungodly and hypocrites. Lord you give them according to their deeds, let them reap what they sow. As with the Psalmist we ask God to not let the wicked, ungodly succeed in their paths against godliness. In our today we pray that those who desire to remove Gods’ influence and acknowledgement from our society not accomplish their goals, that Christianity has no voice of influence in our countries way of life. Now it openly accepts false religions but wants Christianity silenced in public. Then in verse 6 Psalm 28 the Psalmist shows his faith, trust that God has heard his request, that the Lord is our strength to overcome Satan’s temptations as he uses others to attack and discourage us and the Lord is our shield of protection against things that come against us to take us down in our walk with Christ. The last couple of verse are his praise to God for who He is and what He does for Believers walking with Him. Let’s trust, walk and find our comfort and strength in Him. Psalm 28 Unto thee will I cry, O LORD my rock; be not silent to me: lest, if thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit. 2 Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry unto thee, when I lift up my hands toward thy holy oracle. 3 Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which speak peace to their neighbours, but mischief is in their hearts. 4 Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavours: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert. 5 Because they regard not the works of the LORD, nor the operation of his hands, he shall destroy them, and not build them up. 6 Blessed be the LORD, because he hath heard the voice of my supplications. 7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him. 8 The LORD is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed. 9 Save thy people, and bless thine inheritance: feed them also, and lift them up for ever.

God Hears, Let’s Tell
Our comfort and hope in times of trouble, is knowing od hears our cries, knows the burdens we face. Everyone will have troubles some more visible, come more difficult that others but they will come. When they do the Believers’ hope and comfort is in knowing that we can go to God for help. It will come maybe different than what we first desire and later than we want but God will send the answer He knows we need. Our part is to be willing to trust the results He sends to help. We will rejoice in His Salvation, He paid the price for sin at Calvary, how can we not rejoice and tell of our own salvation. Sadly some professing Believers never speak of their personal time of Salvation. There is no ones’ testimony that is not amazing from those who were saved at an early age to the older defiant ones living in open sin. The bible tells us we were all enemies of God before we accepted Christ as our Saviour, our only hope for forgiveness of God. Each day we have the privilege of going to God with our needs and problems. He has promised to listen to us, we need to learn to trust Him in every area of our lives. I see the ads with the lottery winners, their shouting and rejoicing over something that will one day be gone. Where is our shouting, rejoicing and telling others of our gift received of Salvation which will last for eternity, we have been rescued from Hells’ fire and torments can’t we share our blessings with others so they too can be rescued, it’s our command to be witnesses, to just tell what we know.
Psalm 20: The LORD hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee;2 Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion; 3 Remember all thy offerings, and accept thy burnt sacrifice; Selah. 4 Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel. 5 We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the LORD fulfil all thy petitions. 6 Now know I that the LORD saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God. They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright. 9 Save, LORD: let the king hear us when we call.

God’s Billboard
The heavens declare the glory of God. One of the privileges of living in the country away from some of the city lights is to look up at night and see the stars, planets and the milky-way. It shows lights uncountable by man and the glory of God who knows them all by name (Isaiah 40:26, Psalm 147:4. God uses nature to reveal Himself to every person on earth, in every society people worship a god of some kind. But the true God has revealed himself to all through nature itself. We are fortunate, blessed to also have in our hands the written Word of God that reveals Him to us also. The question for each is are we using it to learn more about Him. Nature can reveal that there is a God to men, the Words tells who He is and about Him and His love for us. The rear of the Lord, that is a reverential trust in God along with hatred of evil. Sadly many today profess a love for God but in practice lean toward evil, especially in their entertainment with TV and movies etc. The judgments of God, His Word is to be desired and then He promises great rewards. The Psalmist closes with the request as we also should. God keep me from presumptions sins and let my thoughts and words be acceptable in your sight. The question on what is right and wrong is not what we think but what does God think of our thoughts, words and actions. Our desire and prayer should be that God is pleased with all our thoughts, words and actions. Remember sin starts within the heart, thoughts. Psalm 19 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. 2 Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. 3 There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. 4 Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun, 5 Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race. 6 His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof. 7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. 8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. 9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. 10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. 11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward. 12 Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults. 13 Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression. 14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

Keep Me
The psalmist prayer is for God to keep him safe, secure and from spoilage. Because I put my trust in you he like us knows we would fail if we were kept in the relationship by our own power. I Peter 1:5 tells us we are kept not by our own efforts but by the awesome power of God. I picture a strong arm reaching down and grabbing hold of me, nothing is powerful enough to cause Him to release His grip I am held fast, by His power and love not my efforts. ”I Peter 1:5 Who are kept by the power of God, through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.” Psalm 16:8 I have set the LORD always before me; because he is at my right hand I shall not be moved.”Our commitment keep our eyes on the Lord in our daily walk, we must spend time alone with our savior through His Word, reading, study and prayer. He gives counsel and instruction we have joy and rest because of His promises. Psalm 16 Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust. 2 O my soul, thou hast said unto the LORD, Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee; 3 But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight. 4 Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink fferings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips. 5 The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot. 6 The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage. 7 I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons. 8 I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. 9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope. 10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. 11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
