GOD IS GREAT
He is great and we are to praise Him, He is a refuge, loving kindness, tell the next generation. He is great in knowledge, He knows all there is to know nothing is hidden there are no secrets, all that people do or think He knows all about. Great in power He is all powerful He can calm the oceans and wind nothing is too hard for Him. Great in love, so great is His love that He was willing to become a man to pay our penalty for sin and suffer and die on the cross of Calvary. He desires all people to be saved “..not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. “” 2nd Peter 3:9.But each must make the decision to accept Him or reject Him as the only way of salvation. He is also a just God and the penalty for sin must be paid so He paid it and offers it to all men to take the gift. We in our minds may find it hard to comprehend God but we can look around and know that He exist, read His word and know He loves us and wants to forgive and cleanse us from sin. Its our choice. Psalm 48 Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised, In the city of our God, His holy mountain. 2 Beautiful in elevation, the joy of the whole earth, Is Mount Zion in the far north, The city of the great King. 3 God, in her palaces,
Has made Himself known as a stronghold. 4 For, lo, the kings assembled themselves,
They passed by together.5 They saw it, then they were amazed; They were terrified, they [a]fled in alarm. 6 [b]Panic seized them there, Anguish, as of a woman in childbirth. 7 With the east wind
You break the ships of Tarshish.In the city of the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God;
God will establish her forever. [c]Selah. 9 We have thought on Your lovingkindness, O God,
In the midst of Your temple. 10 As is Your name, O God, So is Your praise to the ends of the earth; Your right hand is full of righteousness. 11 Let Mount Zion be glad, Let the daughters of Judah rejoice Because of Your judgments. 12 Walk about Zion and go around her; Count her towers; 13 Consider her ramparts; Go through her palaces, That you may tell it to the next generation. 14 For [d]such is God, Our God forever and ever; He will guide us [e]until death.

Rejoice, Clap, Shout and Sing
Shout with the voice of triumph (Psalm 47) victory or success, the joy when winning or achieving success. But at times in this current life we don’t feel like shouting and rejoicing because things look like anything but victory and success. But as Believers we are to look beyond the current circumstances to the true God and the future. He is awesome, king , ruler over all the earth everyone and everything is under His control. Some things He does and some things He allows to happen. This side of heaven we cannot understand or comprehend many things. But we know of His love for each of us, He showed us on the Cross of Calvary. Both the Christian and non- Christian may suffer troubles, hurts and heartache in life but as Christians we can trust and place our hope in God looking to Him. He showed His love for us on the Cross of Calvary we show our love for Him in our daily life. We worship and praise Him for who He is and what He’s done. Psalm 47 O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph. 2 For the LORD most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth. 3 He shall subdue the people under us, and the nations under our feet. 4 He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom he loved. Selah. 5 God is gone up with a shout, the LORD with the sound of a trumpet. 6 Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises. 7 For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding. 8 God reigneth over the heathen: God sitteth upon the throne of his holiness. 9 The princes of the people are gathered together, even the people of the God of Abraham: for the shields of the earth belong unto God: he is greatly exalted.
Christians are those who have realized they need salvation and have nothing to offer not good works, not any Church membership priest , pope or preacher but Christ alone .

As we look around the world today we see the violence in at present foreign countries with ISIS, The crime and riots in several cities in our own country. Some predicting the collapse of our nations financial system. Then in our own personal lives the problems we may face daily along with the many “what ifs” . And in psalm 46 the psalmist tells us not to fear, remember God is our refuge our place and source of protection. He is our strength to face and deal with the problems that come our way. He is also our helper in our times of trouble. It’s easy to proclaim to others when trouble comes their way to just trust, rest and wait on God. At times it’s more difficult when we face trouble and heartache. But remember the psalmist David spent years running and hiding from King Saul for his life. But we need to maintain and cling to the truth stated here that God cares for us/me personally, He is my strength and my refuge and the one who is my eop in times of trouble and sorrow. Keep close to Him through the reading od His Word and prayer. And yes trust and totally rely on His promises. He loves us/me enough to suffer and die on the cross of Calvary for me and you to make the way of our forgiveness of sin. When we read His invitation to come to Him and His promises we need to make both personal. Many know the gospel message of salvation but have not made it personal, I did that for many years until the spring of 1968. Psalm 46 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; 3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah. 4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabern acles of the most High. 5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early. 6 The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted. 7 The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah. 8 Come, behold the works of the LORD, what desolations he hath made in the earth. 9 He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire. 10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
1. A mighty fortress is our God, a bulwark never failing;
our helper he amid the flood of mortal ills prevailing.
For still our ancient foe doth seek to work us woe;
his craft and power are great, and armed with cruel hate,
on earth is not his equal.
2. Did we in our own strength confide, our striving would be losing,
were not the right man on our side, the man of God’s own choosing.
Dost ask who that may be? Christ Jesus, it is he;
Lord Sabaoth, his name, from age to age the same,
and he must win the battle.
3. And though this world, with devils filled, should threaten to undo us,
we will not fear, for God hath willed his truth to triumph through us.
The Prince of Darkness grim, we tremble not for him;
his rage we can endure, for lo, his doom is sure;
one little word shall fell him.
4. That word above all earthly powers, no thanks to them, abideth;
the Spirit and the gifts are ours, thru him who with us sideth.
Let goods and kindred go, this mortal life also;
the body they may kill; God’s truth abideth still;
his kingdom is forever.
