Attitude and Reactions
Troubles come, no question about it they will come. Many times from other people that’s what the psalmist (Psalm 35) is speaking of here. He pleads for god to be his defender to fight the battle, he ask that their attacks on him not succeed but are turned back onto them. This Psalm relates all that other were doing to him. And gives us an example to follow, when others go against us. In verses 13-14 we see his reaction his love and compassion toward his attackers, instead of rejoicing when they had trouble he had love and sorrow, for them. “But as for me when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer returned into mine own bosom. I behaved myself as though he had been my friend or brother; I bowed down heavily, as one that mourneth for his mother.” His prayer to God is rescues me and I will give you the praise to others. He ask God to judge him because he is confident of his walk with God knowing God knows the real truth. In closing he says that God is pleased with the prosperity of his servants. Remember real prosperity in God’s sight is what last for eternity. He concludes with his commitment to speak of and praise God daily. Let’s do the same in our daily conversation. Psalm 35 Plead my cause, O LORD, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me. 2 Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for mine help. 3 Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against them that persecute me: say unto my soul, I am thy salvation. 4 Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt. 5 Let them be as chaff before the wind: and let the angel of the LORD chase them. 6 Let their way be dark and slippery: and let the angel of the LORD persecute them. 7 For without cause have they hid for me their net in a pit, which without cause they have digged for my soul. 8 Let destruction come upon him at unawares; and let his net that he hath hid catch himself: into that very destruction let him fall. 9 And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD: it shall rejoice in his salvation. 10 All my bones shall say, LORD, who is like unto thee, which deliverest the poor from him that is too strong for him, yea, the poor and the needy from him that spoileth him? 11 False witnesses did rise up; they laid to my charge things that I knew not. 12 They rewarded me evil for good to the spoiling of my soul. 13 But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer returned into mine own bosom. 14 I behaved myself as though he had been my friend or brother: I bowed down heavily, as one that mourneth for his mother. 15 But in mine adversity they rejoiced, and gathered themselves together: yea, the abjects gathered themselves together against me, and I knew it not; they did tear me, and ceased not: 16 With hypocritical mockers in feasts, they gnashed upon me with their teeth. 17 Lord, how long wilt thou look on? rescue my soul from their destructions, my darling from the lions. 18 I will give thee thanks in the great congregation: I will praise thee among much people. 19 Let not them that are mine enemies wrongfully rejoice over me: neither let them wink with the eye that hate me without a cause. 20 For they speak not peace: but they devise deceitful matters against them that are quiet in the land.
21 Yea, they opened their mouth wide against me, and said, Aha, aha, our eye hath seen it. 22 This thou hast seen, O LORD: keep not silence: O Lord, be not far from me. 23 Stir up thyself, and awake to my judgment, even unto my cause, my God and my Lord. 24 Judge me, O LORD my God, according to thy righteousness; and let them not rejoice over me. 25 Let them not say in their hearts, Ah, so would we have it: let them not say, We have swallowed him up. 26 Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion together that rejoice at mine hurt: let them be clothed with shame and dishonour that magnify themselves against me. 27 Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant. 28 And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness and of thy praise all the day long.

OUR PRAISE HIS PROMISES
The Psalmist (Psalm 34) tells us what our attitude and actions should be; to bless or declare the Lord, speak of Him, praise Him, Boast of him, magnify Him and exalt His name. For the Christian speaking of and sharing who He is and what He’s done for us should be part of our regular conversation. What’s more important to us than Christ, our lives reveal what’s important. How can one not speak of Christ who died for us to pay our sin debt and offer it as a free gift to us. Our salvation and forgiveness is by Christ’s death on the Cross of Calvary , nothing added no church or good works it’s Christ alone. How can we keep silent after what He’s done and does for us. Some may teach today that Christians live without any problems. But Christians/Believers will face problems, sorrow and hurts in this life. God promises to be with us and deliver us. The poor man cried verse 6, the righteous cry verse 7, many are the afflictions of the righteous verse 19. In all of these the Lord delivered them. Remember we all will go through hard times, sorrow and hurts but He has promised to be with us and see us through them, trust Him we are never alone. Jesus is coming soon as He promised be ready be sure. Psalm 34 I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. 2 My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. 3 O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together., 4 I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. 5 They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed. 6 This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. 7 The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. 8 O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. 9 O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him. 10 The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing. 11 Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD. 12 What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good? 13 Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile. 14 Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it. 15 The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry. 16 The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. 17 The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. 18 The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. 19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all. 20 He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken. 21 Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate. 22 The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate. “ As the hymn tells us in the hymn Where He Leads I’ll Follow
Sweet are the promises, kind is the word,
Dearer far than any message man ever heard;
Pure was the mind of Christ, sinless I see;
He the great example is, and pattern for me.
Sweet is the tender love Jesus hath shown,
Sweeter far than any love that mortals have known;
Kind to the erring one, faithful is He;
He the great example is, and pattern for me.
List to His loving words, “Come unto Me”;
Weary, heavy laden, there is sweet rest for thee;
Trust in His promises, faithful and sure;
Lean upon the Savior, and thy soul is secure.
Refrain
Where He leads I’ll follow,
Follow all the way.
Where He leads I’ll follow,
Follow Jesus ev’ry day.

Rejoice and Praise
Rejoice and praise the Lord. There are times in life we all face where the last thing we feel is rejoicing and praise. But even at those times as we can remember who God is and what He has done for us at the Cross of Calvary, it can only bring rejoicing and praise to God. In Psalm 33:3 the psalmist says sing a new song, not we could say just the old ones, they were all new at one time, play instruments but do it with skill, do it well practice in private to get good before you do it in public. Today we see much evil in our world but stop and look around until you see the goodness of God, look at creation, nature see all that He did its’ wonder and beauty. And also those people who show forth the love of God to others. Today even in church there needs to be the fear, utmost respect and awe , amazement of God. The counsel of the Lord stands forever the counsel of unbelievers will fail vs. 10-11. Today we see our president turning the country against Israel that’s is a disaster for America, God has blessed America and until now America has blessed Israel. God has said He will bless those that bless Israel and curse those who curse Israel. Pray that our nation will always stand with Israel. The hope for our nation too remain free until the Rapture, is not in a political party or leader it is too turn back to God and trust in Him. That will only start when Christians turn back to God and His Word as He gave it in the Bible it means just what is says and it will last forever. Read it, Believe it and Follow it and allow God to bless you, remember God’s greatest blessings are for eternity and will never be lost as all on this earth is destroyed by fire. Be sure of your relationship with Him believe, repent and be saved, forgiven and become a child of God. Examine your life today. Psalm 33 Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright. 2 Praise the LORD with harp: sing unto him with the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings. 3 Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise. 4 For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth. 5 He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of theLORD. 6 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. 7 He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses. 8 Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. 9 For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast. 10 The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect. 11 The counsel of the LORD standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations. 12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance. 13 The LORD looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men. 14 From the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth. 15 He fashioneth their hearts alike; he considereth all their works. 16 There is no king saved by the multitude of an host: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength. 17 An horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver any by his great strength. 18 Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy; 19 To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine. 20 Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield. 21 For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name. 22 Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.

BLESSED
Four things concerning the blessed person: 1. Transgressions are forgiven 2. Sin is covered, 3. His iniquity not added to his account, 4. Honest in his dealings. There is nothing in this life better than knowing our account is clean before God in His eyes. He has promised that He will not remember our sins when we confess them. We remember our past sins, we can say that we know something that God doesn’t , my past confessed sins, He chooses and promises not to remember them again. Our confessed sin are covered by the blood of Jesus so when God sees me his view is filtered through the blood of His Son Jesus Christ and He sees me pure without sin. Unconfessed sin takes its toll spiritually, mentally and physically over time as the psalmist said even my bones feel old. He encourages us to seek God while we can, then confess, receive forgiveness and be restored. He is our protector to shield us from Satan’s attacks and our teacher to show us the way we should walk daily. Trust in Him and be surrounded in His mercy. The be glad, rejoice and shout for joy. Remember God has cleansed our sins and forgotten them and promises to remember them no more. Hebrews 8:12”For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.:” Don’t let the past harm your future since God has set it aside so should we. Forgiven, cleaned and restored let us press toward the future staying close to Christ through His Word and prayer committed to live for Him the way He leads each of us. Psalm 32 Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. 2 Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile. 3 When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long. 4 For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah. 5 I acknowledge my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah. 6 For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him. 7 Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah. 8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. 9 Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee. 10 Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the LORD, mercy shall compass him about. 11 Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.

The psalmist (Ps 31) is committed to trust in the Lord. Trust can be good or bad it depends on what or who we trust. We daily put our trust in things we can’t see elevator cables, brakes on cars, planes most of the time it works well. Occasionally they fail injuries and death follow. We put trust in people and at times they fail our trust and hurts and disappointments follow. Many today are trusting in their faith, good lives, works and religion for salvation, forgiveness and a future place in heaven. But sadly when one trust in the wrong things they fail to achieve the desired results. When we really put our trust in God we are secure no matter what happens. He is our rock, foundation and fortress. When troubles come as the psalmist in verse 9 cries to God for mercy. The hard thing to face at times is that even as Christians troubles, heartache, hurts and sorrow will come our way. The bad things that come our way may not be because of what we are doing or have done or have not done. It may be the results of the actions of others. God is in control nothings happens with out Him allowing it, but that does not mean it’s His will. He wants all saved and living according to His Word but that doesn’t because man has freedom of choice and those choices often cause hurt and sorrow to the innocent. But we put our trust in God even when we don’t understand or see the end. Romans 8:28”And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Trust, we are preserved and rewarded Ps 31:23, Be of good courage and He shall strengthen your heart all ye that hope in the Lord. Be sure of your relationship with Christ and be ready to meet Him. Keep looking up. Psalm 31 In You, O LORD, I put my trust; Let me never be ashamed; Deliver me in Your righteousness. 2 Bow down Your ear to me,
Deliver me speedily; Be my rock of refuge, A fortress of defense to save me.
3 For You are my rock and my fortress; Therefore, for Your name’s sake,
Lead me and guide me. 4 Pull me out of the net which they have secretly laid for me, For You are my strength. 5 Into Your hand I commit my spirit;
You have redeemed me, O LORD God of truth. 6 I have hated those who regard useless idols; But I trust in the LORD. 7 I will be glad and rejoice in Your mercy, For You have considered my trouble; You have known my soul in adversities, And have not shut me up into the hand of the enemy;
You have set my feet in a wide place. 9 Have mercy on me, O LORD, for I am in trouble; My eye wastes away with grief, 10 For my life is spent with grief,
And my years with sighing; My strength fails because of my iniquity,
And my bones waste away. 11 I am a reproach among all my enemies,
But especially among my neighbors, And am repulsive to my acquaintances;
Those who see me outside flee from me. 12 I am forgotten like a dead man, out of mind; I am like a broken vessel. 13 For I hear the slander of many;
Fear is on every side; While they take counsel together against me,
They scheme to take away my life. 14 But as for me, I trust in You, O LORD;
I say, “You are my God.” 15 My times are in Your hand; Deliver me from the hand of my enemies, And from those who persecute me. 16 Make Your face shine upon Your servant; Save me for Your mercies’ sake. 17 Do not let me be ashamed, O LORD, for I have called upon You; Let the wicked be ashamed;
Let them be silent in the grave. 18 Let the lying lips be put to silence, Which speak insolent things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.
19 Oh, how great is Your goodness, Which You have laid up for those who fear You, Which You have prepared for those who trust in You In the presence of the sons of men! 20 You shall hide them in the secret place of Your presence
From the plots of man; You shall keep them secretly in a pavilion From the strife of tongues. 21 Blessed be the LORD For He has shown me His marvelous kindness in a strong city! 22 For I said in my haste, “I am cut off from before Your eyes”; Nevertheless You heard the voice of my supplications When I cried out to You. 23 Oh, love the LORD, all you His saints! For the LORD preserves the faithful, And fully repays the proud person.
24 Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart, All you who hope in the LORD.

Our praise to God, because of what He’s done for us. Stop, realize that before you accepted the gift of salvation you were an actual enemy of the Holy God.(Romans 5:8-10) and fully deserving of eternal punishment in Hell forever. We had /have nothing to offer but because of His mercy, grace and love for us He paid the price for our redemption. When that becomes real to us we will praise God with a thankful heart. And have compassion and love for those who have not come to that point yet in their lives, but for the grace of God we would still be where they are now, no room for self righteousness. Remember where you come from in God’s eyes. When we accept His gift of salvation, we are healed from the penalty and power of sin and made new, forgiven and restored the past is wiped clean. Read Matthew chapter 27 for the price He paid to restore us. When we read of His cry “my God why” we can answer, for me and my sin. With a thankful heart we now praise God and tell others of His gift and live a changed life. When the days bring weeping remember joy will come in the morning, it may not be tomorrow but it will come. Psalm 30 I will extol thee, O LORD; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me. 2 O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me. 3 O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit. 4 Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness. 5 For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. 6 And in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved. 7 LORD, by thy favour thou hast made my mountain to stand strong: thou didst hide thy face, and I was troubled. 8 I cried to thee, O LORD; and unto the LORD I made supplication. 9 What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth? 10 Hear, O LORD, and have mercy upon me: LORD, be thou my helper. 11 Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness; 12 To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.

GIVE GLORY
Give glory, praise and worship to God, its due his name for who He is, Almighty and Holy. We should never use his name as many do in slang “oh God, my Lord’ etc. His name should always be used with reverence. Give God His due because of who He is and what He has done for us, in making a way to restore our broken relationship with Him. The voice of the Lord at times sounds loud like thunder and at times a soft whisper. He spoke and all was created as we see in the Genesis account of creation but with man He gently pick up dust and them special and breathed His own breath into him to give him life. The Psalmist tells of many things and all things move when God speaks. He controls all and allows decisions by men that bring Him sorrow and hurt, even as Jesus wept over Jerusalem’s rejection of Him their king. He has promised to give strength to His people, strength to overcome temptation He always shows us the way of escape, but many times we don’t follow and fall. Then He’s there to pick us up forgive and restore if we ask. He has promised to bless His people, His blessings are eternal, He never promised health and material wealth for us on this earth. Sadly but many teach falsely that we are promised health and wealth today. But just look at believers in many countries and their suffering because of their belief. We need to be thankful that in our country for now we have the freedom to worship and declare the true God. I believe that that time is coming to a close. But Jesus is coming so be ready and keep looking up. Psalm 29 Give unto the LORD, O ye mighty, give unto the LORD glory and strength. 2 Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness. 3 The voice of the LORD is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: theLORD is upon many waters. 4 The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is full of majesty. 5 The voice of the LORD breaketh the cedars; yea, the LORD breaketh the cedars of Lebanon. 6 He maketh them also to skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young unicorn. 7 The voice of the LORD divideth the flames of fire. 8 The voice of the LORD shaketh the wilderness; the LORD shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh. 9 The voice of the LORD maketh the hinds to calve, and discovereth the forests: and in his temple doth every one speak of his glory. 10 The LORD sitteth upon the flood; yea, the LORD sitteth King for ever. 11 The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace.
