THE LORD’S PRAYER—Personalized

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen  Matthew 6: 9-13

OUR FATHER—My father reminds us of our relationship to God. A reminder of the sacrifice Jesus paid on the cross of Calvary, His love for us, so we could have a relationship with him.

HALLOWED—Let me live my life today every moment, in every situation that will bring honor to your name, a testimony to others seen and unseen.

KINGDOM COME—I submit to you as the supreme authority in my life. My desire for today is to do your will completely.

DAILY BREAD—I acknowledge that you are my source, that the things I need and desire materially, my ability to work is from you. Also that the spiritual food that I need, that you provide through your Word.

FORGIVE—Forgiveness is available to all because all need it. A reminder that since in mercy God paid the price for my sin so He could forgive me. I must also be forgiving of others. If I don’t forgive others I block my own access to forgiveness (Psalms 66:18)

TEMPTATION—Guide my walk today so I will avoid as much as possible temptations which are around. Keep me from yielding to the temptations that Satan sets before me in both thoughts and actions.

THINE IS THE KINGDOM, THE POWER AND GLORY FOREVER—Every thing I have belongs to you I gladly surrender it all. You have all power to meet all of my needs materially, physically and spiritually.  And a reminder that whatever I may accomplish all the credit and glory belongs to you.

Forgiveness and a new start are the two greatest gifts anyone could ever be given.

The gospel of Jesus Christ is the greatest news ever heard by all mankind. It’s that anyone can be forgiven of all sins and become a child of God. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” John 3:16, The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness but is longsuffering to usward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9, “For God hath concluded them all in unbelief that he might have mercy upon all.” Romans 11:32.

All the records that God has of our sin is wiped completely clean, there’s no more record or remembrance of them anywhere.  Isaiah 43:25 “I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.”  Jeremiah 31:34 “……I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.” Hebrews 8:12 “For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.”

Since we have been forgiven and given a new start. The great question we each must answer. Will we be willing to demonstrate these gifts toward others? Will we forgive and allow them a new start? Why this is so important is because what Jesus Himself said in Mathew 6:14-15 “For if ye forgive men, their trespasses your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if ye forgive not men their trespass neither will your father forgive your trespasses.”  Psalms 66:18  “If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me: “ I John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

The problem with all mankind is that all are sinners and condemned to eternity in Hell separated from God. The Gospel is that Jesus shed His blood and died on the cross of Calvary , was buried and rose again in payment for our sin. Now we can be forgiven and set free from the bondage of sin to live our lives for Him. As the hymn writer put it “there’s room at the cross for all who will come”.
