Great Faith verses Truth

The Muslim terrorist on 9/11 had greater faith than most professing Christians in America today. They had learned from the Koran and their teachers that to die killing infidels for Allah would bring them great rewards and immediate entrance into heaven. However no matter how great faith one may have in what they believe their faith does not make it true. These men sacrificed their own lives for what they believed was the truth. That was strong belief and faith, but sadly as they found out not the truth.

This event only goes to show how far one can go when following men and false teachings. Believing something is true does not make it truth.

Statements I’ve heard and read concerning truth:

I know what I believe and have been taught,

Words mean different things to different people,

  Everyone has their own opinion,

Look to the fathers of the reformation for truth,

Well different people have different beliefs.

But none of these statements make the teaching truth.

So how does one find the truth? The truth is the Bible God’s Word, all sixty-six books every word, That’s why it’s best to have a word for word translation instead of one that just gives the thought as determined by the translator. There must be a commitment to obey God’s word before we can learn the truth of His Word.  “If any man will do his will he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself” John 7:17.

There are many good teachers available, but we need to study to know for ourselves what the Bible actually says not just what some teacher says it says. That requires reading it all and study. It’s easier with a concordance on a computer, just print out the words on the subject and read what God’s Word says. We have available to us the perfect teacher God Himself. He has promised to teach us the truth. “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come”. John 16:13

Remember we are each accountable to God for what we believe and how we live daily. Our eternal destiny and our daily fellowship with Christ is at stake .

When there are two different opinions one is wrong or they both may be wrong, but the truth is settled and never changes. God’s Word the Bible is truth and never changes that we must rely on.
