To drink alcohol or not drink alcohol is it right or wrong.

Let the Scriptures speak for themselves. There are about 208 verses that use wine, new wine and strong drink if all were printed its 9 pages long, too long to put on my blog . To know all that the Bible actually says on a subject just  get  a good concordance  and read the verses related to that subject.  I’ve just listed some below. The conclusion  that  I’ve come to is on my blog  noted elsewhere in October, each one is responsible for their own conclusion  and its results.
Ge 19:32  Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.
Ge 19:33  And they made their father drink wine that night: and the firstborn went in, and lay with her father; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.
Ge 19:34  And it came to pass on the morrow, that the firstborn said unto the younger, Behold, I lay yesternight with my father: let us make him drink wine this night also; and go thou in, and lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.
Ge 19:35  And they made their father drink wine that night also: and the younger arose, and lay with him; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.
Pr 20:1¶  Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.
Pr 23:29 ¶ Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes?
30  They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine.
31  Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright.
32  At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder.
33  Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thine heart shall utter perverse things.
34  Yea, thou shalt be as he that lieth down in the midst of the sea, or as he that lieth upon the top of a mast.
35  They have stricken me, shalt thou say, and I was not sick; they have beaten me, and I felt it not: when shall I awake? I will seek it yet again.
Pr 31:4  It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink:
5  Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted.
Pr 31:6  Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.
Isa 5:11  Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that continue until night, till wine inflame them!
Isa 5:22  Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink:
Isa 28:7  But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment.
Hosea 4:11  Whoredom and wine and new wine take away the heart.
Joel 3:3  And they have cast lots for my people; and have given a boy for an harlot, and sold a girl for wine, that they might drink.
Pr 20:1¶  Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.
Pr 31:4  It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink:

Life’s Journey

Man does not ask to be born, where to be born or who his parents will be. Because he did not exist. The Bible says he was formed by God. Psalm 139: 14-17 13 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. 14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. 15 My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. 16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them. 17 How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!
It was God who brought him in to existence. He was born with a sin nature, just as he was born to the race, ethnic and social status. Along with the sin nature he has inherited the physical characteristics of the two parents. In all of these he had no choice. At birth and for a few years after he has no choice to what he will be exposed to , how he will be taught , what values he will be taught, how he will be launched out onto the sea of life. For the first few years he will go with the flow because that is all he knows.

At some point on the sea of life he will began to chart his own course. First with a few minor course choices as to which direction or what to do at this time on the journey. He will make choices for friends and associates, daily activities, what to read, to watch, what to put into his mind. These will determine the way he will function, decision that will be made in the years to come to choose the path for his journey. Day by day he makes little course settings which will place him on the path to a final destination. As the journey progresses he will become responsible and have the opportunity to make many major decisions . He has reached the point where he makes the decisions and lives with the results. He will learn that his decisions will also affect others.

There will also come a point in time where he will make a decision that will last for eternity. It will be the same as it was with Pilate in the Bible in Matthew 27:22 ”what shall I do with Jesus…” He will only have two choices in the matter to acknowledge him as Saviour and Lord or to ignore and reject Him .

The question is: would the God of the Bible, a God of love , justice and mercy give man the freedom to choose? Or did God determine his eternal destination before he was born, even as God was forming him in the womb?

Remember man had no choice in being born, no choice to whom or where. He had no choice in his early training and up bringing . Would God then also give him no choice for either eternal punishment in the flames of hell or the peace of heaven. We rightly have distain for Hitler and others like him in their killing of the Jews just because they were Jews. The abortionist as they kill the innocent unborn and partially born babies. As bad as this is they have only killed the body and not sent the soul to hell for all eternity. Knowing the character of the true God of the Bible , would He create a child in the womb and predestine him to hell? Would He create a man to be a homosexual and then condemn them to Hell because of that sin, when they had no choice? To answer these we must rely upon the Scriptures as the complete inspired Words of God .
2 Peter3: 9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance

.It’s true man had no choice in the inheriting of his sinful nature. We are all born with the sin nature. Thereforth he will sin because he was born with the nature to sin it is his nature to sin . He is guilty of sin and is under the condemnation of sin. Rom 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Inheriting the sin nature does not make void his accountability for his sinful actions once he gets to the age of knowing right from wrong. He is still powerless to be righteous and in need of the saviour. Man has no hope but Jesus .Acts 4:12 “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” There is no other way to obtain forgiveness but through Jesus Rom 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” There is no other way to set the course for heaven than receiving the gift offered by God to all men.
I was told a story of some unclaimed Christmas gifts one year. The gifts were purchased, wrapped and tagged with their names, then set under the tree waiting to be received. But the gifts were not picked up that Christmas. Heart broken the giver gently placed them aside ready and waiting to be received and picked up. Its like salvation God has purchased the forgiveness for our sins and offered it to us as His gift but each must claim and receive it.

No man is created by God without the opportunity of having his sins forgiven, none are created destined for hell

God reveals the way of salvation to every man it may be only one little bit of light or at others times it may be much light Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, 12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; 13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

God’s Desire
2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
God’s Plan
1 John 2:2 And he is to propitiation for our sins: and not for our’s only , but also for the sins of the whole world.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave His only begotton son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
When God uses the term believe: We believe what the Bible says about who God is, who Jesus is and who we are. What the Bible says about our ultimate fate apart from Christ but God’s divine provision for forgiveness of sins and an eternal home with Him.

Now is the Time
Isa 55:6 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
2Co 6:2 For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
There are deadlines
Proverbs 1:28-29 Then shall they call upon me but I will not answer: they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me: For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the Lord
The Invitations
Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 ¶ For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
John 5:24 Verily, verily I say unto you He that heareth by word, and believeth on him that sent me hath
everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation: but is passed from death unto life.

Each man’s journey will end in one of the two destinations determined by the choice he will make during his life’s journey on earth.

Two Destinations Described
Heaven a real place
Rev 5:11 multitude of angels praising and worshipping God
Conditions in Heaven
No tears
No death
No sorrow
No crying
No pain
No sin
We cannot comprehend the glory we will see and the experience of physically being with Jesus in heaven.
Jesus said He was going to prepare a place for us and we (Believers) would be there with Him..
Hell a real place, we get a glimpse of hell in Luke 16:19 ff
Conditions in Hell
He could see
He was in torments
He could see into Paradise
He could talk to Abraham who was in Paradise
He begged for mercy
He wanted just a drop of water
He was tormented in fire
He was in a place of no escape
He was in a place of no mercy
He could remember relatives on earth
He knew they were also headed to hell
He was burdened for them
He could do nothing to help them now
He was in a place of no hope
Their only hope of missing Hell, would be that they were persuaded by the prophets preaching the Word of God.
The very thing he had rejected, he had made his choice. Now he could only reap the consequences.
Both Heaven and Hell need to be real in our minds and hearts. Be sure of where you will spend eternity . Through out the Bible the invitation to come is offered to all men. Isaiah 55 “ Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
2 Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.
3 Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.
4 Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people.
5 Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not, and nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee because of the LORD thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee.
6 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.”
John 3:16 16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God”
God’s desire is for all to come to Him for salvation. 2Peter 3:9” The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” But God in His Sovereignty has given men the freedom to accept or reject His gift of Salvation.
Be sure of your destination as you journey through this life. Now, is the accepted time, we are not guaranteed one more hour.

I received this by e-mail today wanted to share it with everyone.
 Subject:    LAUS  DEO
One  detail that is never mentioned is that in  Washington , D.C. there can never be a building  of greater height than the Washington  Monument  ..
With all  the uproar about removing the ten commandments,  etc., this is worth a moment or two of your  time.  I was not aware of this amazing historical  information.

On the aluminum  cap, atop the Washington Monument in Washington  , D.C. , are displayed two  words: Laus  Deo.

No  one can see these words.  In fact, most  visitors to the monument are totally unaware  they are even there and for that matter,  probably couldn’t care less.

Once  you know Laus Deo’s history , you will  want to share this with everyone you know.   These words have been there for many years; they  are 555 feet, 5.125 inches high, perched atop  the monument, facing skyward to the Father of  our nation, overlooking the 69 square miles  which comprise the District of Columbia ,  capital of the United States of America

Laus Deo!  Two seemingly  insignificant, unnoticed words. Out of sight  and, one might think, out of mind, but very  meaningfully placed at the highest point over  what is the most powerful city in the most  successful nation in the world.

So, what do  those two words, in Latin, composed of just four  syllables and only seven letters, possibly  mean?  Very simply, they say  ‘ Praise be  to God!’

Though  construction of this giant obelisk began  in1848, when  James Polk was President of the United States ,  it was not until 1888 that  the monument was inaugurated and opened to the  public. It took  twenty-five years to finally cap the memorial  with a tribute to the Father of our  nation,
Laus  Deo
‘Praise be  to God!’

From  atop this magnificent granite and marble  structure, visitors may take in the beautiful  panoramic view of the city with its division  into four major segments.  From that  vantage point, one can also easily see the  original plan of the designer, Pierre Charles  l’Enfant …..a perfect cross imposed upon the  landscape, with the White House to the  north.  The Jefferson Memorial is to the  south, the Capitol to the east and the Lincoln  Memorial to the west.

A cross  you ask?  Why a cross?  What about  separation of church and state? Yes, a cross;  separation of church and state was not, is not,  in the Constitution.  So, read on. How  interesting and, no doubt, intended to carry a  profound meaning for those who bother to  notice.
When the  cornerstone of the Washington Monument was laid  on July 4th, 1848 deposited within it were many  items including the Holy Bible presented by the  Bible Society. Praise be to  God!   Such was the discipline, the moral direction,  and the spiritual mood given by the founder and  first President of our unique  democracy ‘One Nation,  Under God.’

I am  awed by George Washington’s prayer for America  ….    Have you ever read it? Well, now is your unique  opportunity, so read  on!

‘  Almighty God; We make our earnest prayer that  Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy holy  protection; that Thou wilt incline the hearts of  the citizens to cultivate a spirit of  subordination and obedience to government; and  entertain a brotherly affection and love for one  another and for their fellow citizens of the  United States at large. And finally that Thou  wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us  all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean  ourselves with that charity, humility, and  pacific temper of mind which were the  characteristics of the Divine Author of our  blessed religion, and without a humble imitation  of whose example in these things we can never  hope to be a happy nation.  Grant our  supplication, we beseech Thee, through Jesus  Christ our Lord.   Amen.’

Laus  Deo!
It  is hoped you will send this to every child you  know; to every sister, brother, father, mother  or friend.  They will not find offense,  because you have given them a lesson in history  that they probably never learned in  school.  With that, be not ashamed, or  afraid, but have pity on those who will never  see this because someone failed to send it  on..
